APWSL日本の抗議文

APWSL (Asia Pacific Workers Solidarity Links), is a network of grassroots workers and trade union activists in the region.  APWSL Japan has been promoting solidarity among workers of the region.

We were shocked by the news of the conviction of labor rights and human rights activist Somyot Prueksakasemsuk at the Bangkok Criminal Court on January 23.

The allegation was about his violation of Article 112 of the Criminal Code (the lese-majeste law*).  As the statement of Clean Clothes Campaign points out, Somyot was convicted solely for the exercise of his right to freedom of expression and opinion and the right to participate in public life.

We know Somyot has been committed to promoting the democratic rights and welfare of workers in your country.  He didn't harm any people in your country except for those who want to suprress the peoples' rights on the pretext of lese-majeste.

We strongly condemn the conviction and demand you to cancel the indictment and release Somyot immediately.

APWSLはこの地域の草の根の労働者・労働組合活動家のネットワークです。APWSL日本はこの地域における労働者の連帯を進めてきました。

私たちは労働者の権利や人権のために闘ってきた活動家、ソムヨットさんに対する１月２３日のバンコク刑事裁判所による有罪判決に衝撃を受けました。

容疑は刑法第112条（不敬罪）とされています。クリーン・クローズ・キャンペーンの声明が指摘しているように、ソムヨットさんは表現の自由と公的生活に参加する権利を行使したことだけを理由に有罪とされました。

私たちはソムヨットさんが貴国の労働者の民主主義的権利と福祉を増進するために献身してきたことをしてちます。彼は貴国の誰に対しても危害を与えていません - 不敬罪を口実に人々の権利を抑圧するこ とを望んでいる人々を除いては。

私たちは今回の判決を強く非難し、ソムヨットさんに対する告発を取り消し、即時釈放することを求めます
